Scale
  • 1 block (14 oz) extra-firm tofu, pressed and cubed
  • 2 cups fresh pineapple chunks
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce or tamari
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons neutral oil for cooking
  • Green onions and sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Press Your Tofu: Press tofu between clean kitchen towels for 15 minutes to extract excess moisture.
  2. Cube the Tofu: Cut pressed tofu into 1-inch cubes and coat with cornstarch.

  6. Add Aromatics: Stir in minced garlic and ginger for 30 seconds.
  7. Pineapple Magic: Add pineapple chunks and caramelize for 2-3 minutes.
  8. Bring It All Together: Combine soy sauce, rice vinegar, and maple syrup in a bowl, then pour over the mixture and stir in the crispy tofu for 2 minutes.
