Description

A comforting dairy-free latte made with turmeric, ginger, and aromatic spices, perfect for cozy evenings or refreshing mornings.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups (480 mL) oat milk or soy milk
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground turmeric (or 1 1/2 tablespoons freshly grated turmeric)
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger (or 1 tablespoon freshly grated ginger)
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (or 1 large cinnamon stick)
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves (optional)
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cardamom (or 23 crushed cardamom pods, optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon unrefined virgin coconut oil
  • 1 tablespoon pure maple syrup (optional)

Instructions

  1. Warm the oat or soy milk in a small saucepan over low heat, being careful not to boil.
  2. Add the turmeric, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, and black pepper, whisking until well blended.
  3. Simmer gently for 5–10 minutes, whisking occasionally.
  4. Optionally, warm the milk in the microwave for 1-2 minutes and whisk in the ingredients.
  5. Remove from heat and strain, if using whole spices.
  6. Stir in the coconut oil until melted and optionally sweeten with maple syrup.
  7. Froth the latte for a creamy texture.

Notes

Use room temperature milk for better frothing. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days.
