- 4 cups apples, peeled and sliced
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1 cup flour
- 1/2 cup coconut oil or vegan butter, melted
- 1/4 cup maple syrup or agave nectar
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Mix the sliced apples with brown sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, cloves, and salt in a large bowl. Let sit for 5 minutes.
- Spread the apple mixture in a greased baking dish.
- In another bowl, combine the oats, flour, melted coconut oil or vegan butter, and maple syrup until crumbly.
- Sprinkle the oat mixture over the apples evenly.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and apples are bubbly.
- Serve warm, optionally with vegan vanilla ice cream.
