A refreshing cocktail inspired by a lush summer garden, featuring cucumber, fresh herbs, and gin.
Ingredients

- 1 ounce simple syrup (made from equal parts water and sugar)
- 1 small Turkish cucumber, sliced into 1/4 inch slices (about 1/2 cup)
- A handful of tender herbs (tarragon, dill, Italian parsley, celery leaves, or a mix)
- 4 ounces gin (or vodka)
- 1/2 ounce Chartreuse (or another anise-flavored liqueur)
- 1 1/2 ounces fresh lemon juice
- Splash of celery bitters (optional)
- Garnish: 2 thin slices of Turkish cucumber and violets (optional)
Instructions
- Make the Simple Syrup: Combine 1 part water with 1 part sugar in a small pot, heat until dissolved, then cool completely.
- Muddle Cucumber and Herbs: In a cocktail shaker, add sliced cucumber and tender herbs with 1 ounce of cooled simple syrup. Lightly muddle.
- Mix the Cocktail: Add 4 ounces of chilled gin (or vodka), 1/2 ounce of Chartreuse, 1 1/2 ounces of lemon juice, and a splash of celery bitters. Shake with ice for 15 seconds.
- Strain & Serve: Using a fine mesh strainer, pour into two chilled cocktail glasses. Garnish each glass with a slice of cucumber and edible violets.
Notes
Use fresh herbs for the best flavor. Chill ingredients for optimal refreshment.
