Ingredients

- 3/4 cup plain yogurt
- 1/4 cup tahini paste
- 1 to 2 cloves garlic, finely minced
- 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice (optional)
- 1 teaspoon olive oil
- Fresh herbs for garnish (like parsley, dill, cilantro, or chives)
- Aleppo chili flakes or Urfa biber (optional)
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, add 3/4 cup yogurt, 1/4 cup tahini, and 1 to 2 minced garlic cloves.
- Use a whisk to combine them into a creamy mixture, about 1-2 minutes of vigorous whisking.
- Add 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon pepper to taste; if desired, add lemon juice for tang.
- If using fat-free yogurt, incorporate 1 teaspoon olive oil for texture.
- Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to meld. Garnish with fresh herbs and chili flakes before serving.
Notes
Storage: Keep in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days. For a thinner sauce, whisk in water or more yogurt until desired consistency is reached.
