- 1 cup cottage cheese
- 1 cup + 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- Flaky salt to taste (about 1 teaspoon)
- 1–2 tablespoons melted butter (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Add cottage cheese to a food processor and blend until smooth and creamy.
- In a large bowl, combine flour, salt, and baking powder.
- Stir in the blended cottage cheese until well combined.
- Knead the dough lightly on a floured surface for 2-3 minutes until smooth.
- Shape the dough into 12-inch ropes and twist into pretzel shapes.
- Place on a lined baking sheet, brush with egg wash, and sprinkle with flaky salt.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- Brush lightly with melted butter upon removing from the oven and serve warm.
Notes
For dairy-free options, substitute cottage cheese with cashew cream and use melted coconut oil for the butter.
