A delightful and healthy homemade ginger-orange granola that combines the warmth of ginger, the zest of orange, and crunchy nuts and seeds, perfect for breakfast or snacking.

- 2 1/2 cups rolled oats
- 2/3 cup raw almonds
- 1/2 cup raw sunflower seeds
- 1/3 cup coconut flakes or shredded coconut
- 3 tablespoons sesame seeds
- 3 tablespoons hemp hearts or ground flax seeds or chia seeds
- 1 heaping teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- A pinch of salt
- Zest of 1 – 2 oranges or 4 – 5 cuties
- 2/3 – 3/4 cups pure maple syrup
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 275 degrees F.
- Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
- Mix the rolled oats, chopped almonds, sunflower seeds, coconut, sesame seeds, and your choice of hemp hearts or flax seeds in a large mixing bowl.
- Add the ground ginger, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt, mixing well.
- Zest the oranges into the dry ingredients.
- Pour the maple syrup over the mixture, stirring to fully coat.
- Spread the granola mixture evenly onto the baking sheet.
- Bake for 30-40 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool completely on the baking sheet before transferring to an airtight container.
Notes
Store granola in an airtight container. It lasts up to a month at room temperature. For longer freshness, consider freezing portions.
