- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup BBQ sauce
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (optional)
Instructions
- In a small bowl, mix together the paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper until evenly combined.
- Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels and coat them evenly with the spice rub.
- Optional: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and sear the chicken thighs for 1-2 minutes on each side.
- Place the seasoned chicken thighs in the crock pot in a single layer.
- Pour the BBQ sauce evenly over the chicken thighs.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
- Shred the chicken with two forks and serve hot with additional BBQ sauce if desired.
