- 2 cups canned chickpeas, drained and rinsed (approximately 400g)
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1/4 cup water
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- Salt to taste
- Preferred spices (cumin, red pepper flakes, thyme, etc.)
- Sesame seeds for topping
Instructions
- Blend the chickpeas, cornstarch, water, olive oil, apple cider vinegar, salt, and spices in a blender until smooth, resembling a thick batter.
- Line a baking tray with parchment paper and shape the mixture into fry-like forms.
- Generously sprinkle sesame seeds over each fry.
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (390°F) and bake the fries for 20–25 minutes, or until golden brown.
Notes
For best results, store fries in an airtight container for up to 3 days and reheat in the oven to retain crispness. You can prepare the mixture in advance and refrigerate it for up to a day.
