  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 corn tortillas
  • Lettuce or cabbage, shredded
  • Diced tomatoes
  • Avocado, sliced
  • Fresh cilantro, chopped
  • Lime wedges for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) if baking. Prepare the cooking method for pan-frying or air-frying.
  2. In a mixing bowl, mash black beans slightly and mix in cumin, chili powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Warm the corn tortillas in a skillet over low heat for about 30 seconds on each side.
  4. Take a warmed tortilla and spoon about 2 tablespoons of the black bean mixture in the center; fold gently.
  5. For baking, place tacos on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes, flipping halfway through. For pan-frying, heat oil in a skillet and fry each taco for 3-4 minutes on each side. For air-frying, arrange tacos in the basket and cook for 10 minutes at 375°F (190°C), flipping halfway through.
  6. Remove tacos and dress with toppings of shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, avocado slices, chopped cilantro, and a squeeze of lime.
