Description

A unique and comforting pasta dish that blends Italian flavors with Korean Gochujang for an unforgettable dining experience.


Ingredients

  • ¾ lb. dry spaghetti (or your favorite pasta shape)
  • 1½ tbsp olive oil (extra virgin for richness)
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • 3 tbsp Gochujang chili paste (adjust to taste)
  • ¾ cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh chopped parsley (optional)
  • Red chili flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Boil a large pot of salted water, add spaghetti, and cook al dente (8-10 minutes). Reserve 1 cup of pasta water before draining.
  2. In a large saucepan, warm olive oil over medium heat until shimmering.
  3. Add minced garlic to the saucepan and sauté until fragrant (about 20 seconds). Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Stir in Gochujang paste, blending it with the garlic, then add ½ cup of reserved pasta water.
  5. Pour in heavy cream and add grated Parmesan. Simmer gently for 2-3 minutes until thickened.
  6. Add cooked pasta to the sauce, tossing to coat. Adjust sauce consistency with more reserved pasta water if needed.
  7. Serve in bowls, garnished with red pepper flakes, Parmesan, and parsley.

Notes

You can prep the sauce in advance and reheat it. Leftovers are good for up to 3 days in an airtight container.
