Description

A crunchy twist on the classic crab rangoon, these egg rolls are creamy, savory, and perfect for gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 15 egg roll wrappers
  • 1 cup chopped imitation crab
  • 1 and 1/2 blocks of softened cream cheese (375g)
  • 2 sliced green onions
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • Neutral oil for frying
  • Sweet chili sauce for dipping

Instructions

  1. Prepare your filling: chop imitation crab and green onions. Mix with cream cheese, sesame oil, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, sugar, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  2. Lay an egg roll wrapper in a diamond shape and spoon 1-2 tablespoons of filling onto the center. Fold the edges and roll tightly, using water to seal.
  3. Heat neutral oil in a pan over medium heat until ready for frying.
  4. Fry the egg rolls in batches for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.
  5. Drain on paper towels, sprinkle with salt, and serve hot with sweet chili sauce.

Notes

Ensure cream cheese is at room temperature for easy mixing. Store un-fried rolls in the fridge or freeze for later.
