- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup pasta or pizza sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup fresh chopped basil
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a food processor, blend 1 cup of cottage cheese until smooth.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, 2 teaspoons baking powder, and 1 teaspoon salt.
- Gradually add the blended cottage cheese to the dry ingredients, mixing until a soft dough forms.
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle, about 1/2 inch thick, on a floured surface.
- Spread 1/2 cup pasta or pizza sauce over the dough, leaving a 1-inch border.
- Sprinkle 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese and 1/2 cup chopped fresh basil over the sauce.
- Roll the dough tightly, starting from the edge closest to you.
- Cut the rolled dough into 9-10 equal portions using a sharp knife.
- Place the rolls on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 20-30 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Let them cool for 10-15 minutes before serving, optionally with marinara sauce for dipping.
Notes
For a more golden finish, brush the tops with melted butter before baking. You can customize the fillings based on your preferences.
