- 2 cups frozen blackberries (or fresh, if in season)
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- ½ cup unsalted butter
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¼ cup oats
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and grease a 9-inch pie dish.
- In a medium bowl, combine blackberries, granulated sugar, cornstarch, and lemon juice. Toss gently and set aside.
- In another bowl, combine flour, butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Mix until it resembles coarse crumbs.
- Press half of the crumble mixture into the bottom of the pie dish to form a crust. Pour the berry filling over the crust.
- Sprinkle the reserved crumble mixture evenly over the topping.
- Bake for 30 to 35 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
- Let it cool for 15 to 20 minutes before slicing.
Notes
For added flavor, you can customize with vanilla, nuts, or lemon zest. Store leftovers tightly covered for up to 5 days.
