Description

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup non-dairy milk
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 cups diced apples
  • Oil for frying
  • Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together the non-dairy milk and sugar until the sugar is dissolved.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined. Fold in the diced apples.
  4. Heat about 2 inches of oil in a deep skillet over medium heat until it reaches 350°F.
  5. Carefully drop spoonfuls of batter into the hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes on each side.
  6. Remove the fritters with a slotted spoon and let them drain on paper towels.
  7. Dust with powdered sugar if desired and serve warm.

Notes

Best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 day or frozen for up to 2 months.
